The TEC Advantage
TEC's Revolutionary New, Flare-Proof, infrared Burner System
Specially configured stainless steel burners distribute heat evenly, eliminating hot and cold spots, so every square inch of cooking area is available for grilling. |
High temperature glass panels radiate infrared energy, shield food from moisture robbing hot air, and vaporize drippings into flavor enhancing smoke. |
Stainless cooking grates are placed directly on the radiant glass panels to prevent air flow at the grilling surface and eliminate flairups. |

The innovation begins with the burner system you see above—the first ever developed to produce 100% infrared energy. The burner itself is constructed of 304 stainless steel with apertures specially designed to distribute heat evenly across the cooking surface. The radiant glass panels, a layer of high temperature glass resting between the burners and the cooking grates, block air flow below the grates that dries out food and causes flare-ups. These panels also vaporize food drippings to create a smoky vapor that imparts a delicious outdoor grilled flavor. The end result is a flare-proof grilling system that cooks with 100% infrared energy, evenly distributes heat across the entire cooking surface - with no hot or cold spots - and infuses food with an authentic outdoor grill flavor.
The Taste Of TEC - A Flavor Enhancing Approach
Other grills, including other infrared systems, cook with at least 65% hot air which dries out food. But TEC's new patented grilling system cooks with 100% infrared heat so food retains more of its own natural juices. Even well-done meats remain tender and juicy, and there is noticeably less shrinkage in food (up to 35% more moisture retention). The radiant glass panels on which the cooking grates rest vaporize food drippings, creating a smoky vapor that infuses food with a distinctive, outdoor grilled flavor. These panels allow marinades and sauces to be poured on top of food while grilling without wasting a drop. When marinades drip onto the radiant glass, they sizzle into steam, becoming part of the smoky vapor that flavors the food. Wood chips can also be placed directly on the cooking grates, eliminating the need for a smoker box. And small items such as shrimp or vegetables can be put directly on the cooking grates, too. This is because the glass panels prevent anything from falling through the grates, which keeps the burners clean. The unique design of the TEC grills also allows for conventional cooking, eliminating the need for a sideburner. Simply place your cookware on top of the grates or remove them and cook directly on the radiant glass panels.
TEC's Remarkable Range of Cooking Intensity
TEC's new grills heat up quickly — reaching their maximum temperature during preheating within 7 minutes (on high fire with the hood closed). They also have a remarkable range of cooking intensity. On high fire settings, the new TECs cook with greater intensity and speed than other infrared grills. Food sears more rapidly but seldom sticks to the grill's cooking surface, allowing for restaurant like grill marks on meats and vegetables for the ultimate presentation. However, on low fire, our new grills cook dramatically cooler than traditional infrared grills, allowing food to be slow roasted as well as seared. And since they use infrared energy rather than hot air, they operate just as efficiently in extreme cold temperatures because freezing temperatures have no effect on infrared heat, so you can grill all year - anywhere! One loyal TEC owner who is also an avid ice fisherman actually reported grilling freshly caught fish on the icy surface of a lake with his portable TEC Cherokee!
TEC's Evenly Heated Grilling Surface
Because TEC's new patented grilling system distributes heat evenly across the grilling surface, you can cook more than twice the amount of food on a TEC grill than you can on other grills of comparable size. All other grills sold today, whether they are infrared or not, have hot and cold spots across the cooking grates so you have to search for that sweet spot when grilling. But every square inch of grilling surface on our new TEC grills is available for grilling. You can actually cover the entire cooking grate area with steak, chicken or hamburgers, and each piece will cook exactly the same in the same amount of time.
TEC's Easy-to-Clean Design
TEC grills use the same self-cleaning concept as residential ovens. So cleanup is fast and easy. Operating the grill on high fire for 5-7 minutes with the hood closed will incinerate any food and debris that accumulates during grilling. What remains is a light residue of ash that settles on the cooking grates and glass panels. Once the grill has cooled, simply remove the cooking grates and scrape the remaining ash on the glass panel to the back of the grill with a spatula where it will fall through an opening to the drip tray below. You may want to wipe the panel with a dry or damp cloth, as well as the grates, although this is not necessary.

TEC Quality - 100% 304 Stainless Steel American Construction
TEC grills are hand-crafted in America of 304 stainless steel—even the burners and cooking grates—and are built to last a lifetime. 304 stainless is considered the top choice of material in the manufacture of appliances because it is one of the most corrosive resistant grades of stainless available today. It is also easier to clean and more stain resistant than the inexpensive, lesser grades of stainless steel.
There are many grills advertised as all stainless, but that does not mean that they are 304 grade. That is why it is important to find out whether the stainless grill that you are buying is actually made of 304 stainless steel.
